Color....how I love thee!!

Ok so i can't fully express how much i love color!!!

Full head of high lights, lo lights, and a much needed killer attack on those split ends, and this momma got her groove back =)

Check more of my work at www.Facebook.com/illustrasSalon

New do for autumn!

Love this girl something stupid but she needed an over haul. Regret now not taking pictures of it before.

Imagine somewhere between four to six inches longer (very few layers) and an inch or more of new growth from caramel highlights (10% grey). We needed a change. Added high lights and base.

Love it!!

Wedding styles...dream or nightmare?

As the big day approaches some things to keep in mind.

1. Know your stylist!
So many times do we get the "OH i know this one girl who is awesome!" Advice is good. It can leaf you to an excellent stylist. However walking in as a cold call to a stylist who had never worked with you or your hair can end in one of a few ways:
   * An amazing look that you never imagine possible (obviously a good thing)
    * its okay. Could have been better. "maybe its just my nerves...it looks fine" (even a great stylist can't read minds and anticipate preferences of a person they have never met or worked with before the initial consultation)
    * someone call the paramedics she is hyper ventilating!!! (it is nothing like you had in mind and you panic because you have less than a few hours till "I Do")

So with that said my recommendation: so and so said she was great. The stylist might be educated and excellent but to obtain optimal results allow the stylist to cut and style you're hair several months before the big day. Few weeks later conditioning treatment or maybe even color if your interested. Then your consultation for your updo. Allow your stylist to get comfortable and learn about you and your hair. Your style preferences as well. This will help both of you be comfortable knowing you can trust the other.

2. Don't show up for the consultation and say "be creative i don't care as long as it looks good. Ummmmm no!!

*bring three different multi angle photos of what you might be interested in.
*if there is anything you know you want our don't want tell him/her and be specific (can't get angry at us for doing something we did not know about)

Then let the stylist take your ideas and make it their own. Let her give you recommendations (based on your hair which style would look better). Allow for creative embellishment. In other words, don't expect that its going to look EXACTLY LIKE THE PICTURE TO THE VERY LAST CURL. We can get it close but not exact.

3. Last but not least: hair pins, jewelry, and accessories. Bring them to the consultation!

*I encourage clients to get their own hair pins. This ensures that the color of the pin will blend and disappear because the color matches. If your stylist chooses and provides them she may get it wrong. It does happen. Then you could have black Bobby pins on blonde hair out vise versa. Just takes the possible issue out of the equation.

*bring your vail and other hair accessories that will be used. Depending on what you bring can determine what styles can be accomplished or not. VERY IMPORTANT!

Allot to think about however this will ensure that the day of the wedding you can replace and know already your hair is one less thing to stress about. Remember! YOUR STYLIST IS ONLY AS GOOD AD THE INFORMATION THEY ARE GIVEN WHEN IT COMES TO THIS.

How this was helpful!
